Polishing that toned down look

As it is probably very evident by the last two outfit posts, I have completely succumbed and immersed myself into the monochromatic colour palette. It by no means was on purpose and it has shocked me quite a lot that for the moment I have decided to roll with it! It always intrigues me that personal style can change as quickly and as much as it does with no rhyme or reason, I suppose that is why I enjoy it so much. My wardrobe has transitioned to a simpler silhouette coupled with basic and neutral colours which I am absolutely loving at the moment and with the way I’m feeling I don’t think this style is going to be going anywhere anytime soon!

The sun has been shining consistently this past week in Ireland which gives so much more freedom and leeway with outfit choices. There is something to be said when you constantly must bundle yourself up in winter coats, scarves coupled with a hat, you are not choosing the outfit, the weather is. When there is any bit of heat in the air, the possibilities become endless. On this day, it was so warm that I could finally make use of this stunning blouse that has been sitting in my wardrobe for years. It is the perfect piece for days where I want to look put together and polished while still feeling uber-comfortable.

         The Outfit

Top – Next (not available, similar top here)

Trousers – H&M

Shoes – Toms

With this outfit, the best partner in crime to bring along for the day would be a leather jacket. In my opinion this adds another element to the outfit which finishes the overall polished look. Leather jackets much like sunglasses are my kryptonite, you can ultimately never go wrong with a leather jacket. I don’t have it pictured here as it was too warm to wear a jacket (believe it or not) but you can get a similar one to my leather jacket here.

Reflecting on my outfit choices of these last few weeks I have firmly planted my feet on the simply polished train and I can’t see myself drifting from this style in the next few weeks. There is something so appealing to me when I see the simplicity of a blouse or shirt paired with a pair of skinny jeans becoming a full formed outfit right in front on my eyes. I will no doubt be keeping you up to date on where my style will transition to next through these outfit blog posts but I can almost guarantee that you will be seeing a lot more of this vibe coming from me!

What style has your outfit transitioned to in the last few weeks and what has been your inspiration? Let me know in the comments down below!
