Return of sweater season

The return of the cold has hit Ireland with all its force once again. The days may be getting brighter but the weather is certainly not getting warmer.  This for me means that turtle necks and high necks continue to dominate my wardrobe and by the looks of it will continue to for the next few weeks. With this came the thought of why don’t I do a whole blog post dedicated to my favourite types of knits since I all but live and them? So without further delay I present to you my best recommendations for comfy and cosy knits.

First of all, I have to mention H&M knits. In my opinion this brand is often overlooked when it come to their knits section but without a doubt it’s my favourite place to shop for all things knit. This store always has such an amazing selection and their knits are really good quality for the price point. To me these sweaters are faultless and have been able to accomplish producing a flawless knit at an amazing price and is an item that needs to be present in everyone’s sweater collection.

Next is another store that I have to preach about when it comes to their sweaters. They are a bit pricier than H&M but with this also comes a quality increase. I don’t know what material they use but it is so soft even after multiple washes which is hard to find. Usually what I find happening to knitwear is once you wash it, it loses all the cosiness but I have never found this to happen to Next products. I have one of their roll neck grey knits from last season and have gotten my fair wear out of it yet it still feels brand new and is more than I can ask for out a knitwear item.

High-street brands in my opinion have mastered the production of amazing knits so surprise surprise the next brand that I’m going to recommend is Topshop. Again some of their items can be on the pricier side of the scale but in my opinion is well worth the price. What I love about Topshop is that they are always on top of the latest trends and are always a few weeks ahead of the other high-street brands. Topshop always has a stunning selection and even to just browse through their collection will have me instantly lusting for more and more knits.

Lastly I am going to mention a brand that I haven’t tried yet and that is Reiss. I am recommending them for a good reason and that is because of all the amazing reviews I have heard about their knits. This is probably one of the most expensive high-street brands mentioned on this comprehensive list but their knits section has so many options and is made out of high quality materials. I hope to purchase one of their new season knits soon just so I experience the lux of the material for myself but for now I am content to browse through their gorgeous section of knitwear online. There is something so understated yet classic about their sweaters that I know one of these knits would be in your collection for years and years to come. When I do purchase my first Reiss piece I will no doubt be picking one of their classics and will let you know if it reaches all of my expectations (which I’m sure it will!)

These are the four brands that I would unquestionable put my name behind in regards to their knitwear and definitively get a stamp of approval in my book.

Let me know in the comments down below where is your favourite place to get a good knit and what brand would you recommend without a second thought.
