Committing to the lob

I finally did it, I finally took the plunge and am now the proud owner of the infamous lob. The lob has been the hairstyle of the moment for the last four years and has no intention of moving from this coveted spot. Celebrities from Olivia Palemo to Vanessa Hudgens have all made the chop so I thought it was finally time to try it out for myself.
It is a pretty humongous transition from my previous hairstyle and you know what, I couldn’t be happier about my decision. I chopped about 8 inches off and to be honest I didn’t even realise that I had that much hair to begin with. As the scissors glided through my hair I could feel the literal weight of the hair falling off my shoulders and all I could think was why didn’t I do this sooner? I have been rocking this hair for about four days and I can already see the versatility it has given my hair and how many different ways that this haircut can be styled on a daily basis.

I am a person that always becomes so complacent with my hair particularly the way I style it every day. I always end up styling it the same because to be truthful it takes no time in the morning and if you know me I never give myself enough time to get ready in the morning! But with this hair being so short it takes no time at all to style it, and I definitely think that that is why I adore this cut so much.

A key point that has to be mentioned is the low maintenance of a lob. I never took into account how long it took to wash my long hair until it was all gone. I hopped into the shower the next morning and had my hair shampooed and conditioned in a matter of minutes. While I love my hair, I don’t want to have to spend ten plus minutes washing it twice a week and then taking the time to straighten or curl it is another ball game all together. Taking all these considerations into thought solidified the reasoning in why I needed to transition to the lob and unquestionably has been the best hair decision I have made in a while.

The options are endless and infinite with a lob, you can straighten, curl, style it up or style it down without much of an effort and still achieve a flawless effect. It’s a cut that no matter what way you decide to style it you will still look put together and like you just came out of a salon. I cannot recommend this haircut enough and without a doubt is a haircut that everyone should try. I can guarantee that I will have a hard time ever going back to having long hair and for the time being I am going to keep it this length. I am having so much fun attempting hair styles that I have never tried before and I am looking to in time perfecting those beachy waves for the impending spring and summer that is just around the corner.

I will leave a link here to more lob inspirations and ideas just in case you haven’t been convinced so please enjoy.

Are you going to take the plunge and choose the lob life, let me know in the comments down below and if you have ever rocked a lob!
