Sunglasses Lust for Spring 2017

The lust for sunglasses is real for me right now. With every passing day my eyes are clasping on more and more pairs and I to be perfectly honest can’t get enough. As you all probably know I view sunglasses as an investment purchase, a classic piece that I will still have in years to come so I don’t mind splurging on a high end brand. In 2016 there was some absolute show stoppers and I can guarantee from what I have seen that 2017 will be no different. In this post I am going to talk about my three favourite brands that I was lusting over in 2016 and will continue to in 2017.

I only really discovered Fendi sunglasses in the last few months and I can without a doubt say that I am absolutely obsessed.  They are one of the few brands that I have seen that have such an iconic shape with their Fendi Lei sunglass range. I would be able to spot them from a mile away and I think that is what ultimately put Fendi on my sunglasses radar.  These Lei glasses come in a cat eye frame and also in a more rectangular frame with a number of diverse colours being offered in each style. The sunglasses have a very minimalist frame leaving the matte triangles on the edge of the lenses to be an absolute eye catching piece.  In my opinion these are as dramatic as sunglasses come and are a definite must-have on my list.

*Miu Miu*

I would personally rank Miu Miu sunglasses as an iconic classic in the accessories world. Every year they kill it with their outstanding frames and lavish designs that personally I think are the brand that is setting the bar.  Even though they have an array of amazing styles there are two styles in particular that stand out for me and that is Miu Miu Noir sunglasses and The Collection Miu Miu heart motif sunglasses. The Noir sunglasses have a full circle frame that are embellished with dainty micro-crystals and is a pair that wouldn’t hesitate to purchase. In my opinion no brand can create a circle frame as elegantly as Miu Miu and ends up with a finished product that is so timeless. The heart motif sunglasses are on the opposite end of the spectrum for me and is not like anything that I have seen before.  The heart is created by the layering of different coloured pieces of glass and is a technique that is so unique that I had to mention this pair. They are a stunning pair of sunglasses and would definitely draw a lot of eyes to them.

Dior sunglasses really caught my attention in 2016. Their sunglasses graced the faces of many bloggers and had me investigating into these magnificent shades wondering who could create such outstanding pieces. I don’t think I could leave this post without mentioning the infamous Dior Split sunglasses, the most popular pair of 2016 and also the new Dior Cruise 2017 So Real.  The Dior splits in my opinion was the winner of accessories in 2016, the metal inserts creating a horizontal band was a new invention on a classic aviator shape that captured the eyes of many including myself.  It dominated faces in an array of diverse colours and was the accessory that could elevate a whole outfit in the blink of an eye, Chrisitan Dior truly outdid himself with this pair. In the new 2017 Cruise line it’s no different, the So Real range immediately took hold of my attention with the one-of-a-kind colour combinations and the torn glass effect running through the middle of the frames. This is an absolutely breath taking pair and was an instant adoration the minute I saw them. I can nearly guarantee that these will be the must have pair for 2017 and definitely have gained a well-earned spot on my wish list.

This list will no doubt grow as the year progresses and I cannot wait to see what the fashion world has to offer but for now these are the pairs that are definite favourites. I would love to know in the comments down below what your favourite pair of sunglasses is and what pairs are on your wish list!
